This week in Room 16 we have been busy little bees.  However, we are really looking forward to the Easter holiday!
In maths this week we have been learning how to create a 3 element continuing pattern. We based our learning on the nursery rhyme Mary, Mary Quite Contrary. Here are the flowers we created. Can you read our petal patterns starting from the black dot and going clockwise?

We also made Easter patterns and here is some of our work.

This term we have been learning how to draw and add detail. Here is our first attempt at
drawing faces. Did you check out our drawings of our Mums, Dads,Nanas and Papas in the hall? Come along and see our masterpieces!

Week 6 in Room 16

Our letter of the week this week has been K. We know it starts words like king, kitten, koala, kiwi, and we have two people in our class whose names start with  k - Kayde and Kymaani!
On Friday we made kites but we were a little sad that they couldn't fly, so Mrs Evans asked her boy Cameron to bring a kite to school. He did! We had lots of fun holding the end of the string and watching the kite dance in the wind. The wind was really strong and it whipped the string out of Kymaani's hand! We watched the kite sail away over Rugby Park. Thank goodness it came down and Cameron was able to run and get it!
Here are some photos of Cameron with the kite.

We have been very busy since the beginning of the year. We have had our swimming sports, we participated in the longest hi 5 along with lots of other West Coast children and have done lots of learning.
We love learning and we all join in with everything. Here are some photos of our room so far this year.
Here is our alphabet wall. Can you see what we made when we learned the letter t? We cut apples into thin slices spread peanut butter on them and then put little white marshmallows between them to make teeth. The best part was eating them at morning tea. Yum!
We talked about The Grey Main Vision and found out it is a journey of discovery lear. We have just started our school journey and along the way we are going to fill our brains with lots and lots of learning.
