Maths in Room 16 in Week 8.

This week in maths we have been learning about halves and quarters. Mrs Evans bought us some bread and luncheon and we had fun cutting our bread into halves and quarters. Then we were allowed to eat our sandwiches. Yum, yum!

Week 8 in Room 16

This week has been a busy week. We had a teddy bears picnic in the hall with our friends from Syndicate 1 and 2. We listened to the teddy bears picnic music, went on a bear hunt with Mrs Thomas, acted out the poem Teddy Bear  teddy bear turn around and listened to our favourite story "The Best Lived Bear". It was so exciting.

Week 10 in Room 16.

This week we have been reading the big book called "The King's Cake." It was funny because no one could blow out the 46 candles on the cake. The gardener got his garden hose and squirted water until they went out and the poor King ended up with cake soup. He was not happy. Mrs Evans thought it would be a good idea to make a birthday candle graph since we have been learning about how to sort and compare objects in maths. We are getting really good at talking about our findings.
Our letter of the week has been n and we had fun today making neckties and noodle necklaces. Some of us found it tricky threading the noodles but we kept trying until we succeeded.
Last of all we finished our wonderful cats that we have been doing in art. We have been learning how to use different line patterns. When we were happy with our drawing we went over the lines with a vivid. We are very proud of our work and we hope you like them
too.

What have Room 16 been up tp this week?

We have been really busy this week. Can you tell from the photos what our letter of the week was? Look at our masks and that will give you a clue. That's right the letter r. R starts rabbit and robot and also rice bubbles! Mrs Evans thought it would be a good idea to make rice bubble crackles. We thought it was too! They were yum! We also went to our school garden and we planted some broad bean plants. We are going to watch item grow. We hope nothing eats the little plants. Summer wrote a great story about our trip to the garden. She had five ideas in it.Wow! That was a fantastic effort. Can you tell who the children are behind the masks?

Look at what we made for the school garden. This is Sam. We had fun making him. He is standing proudly in the garden alongside all the other scarecrows.
